From specialty medicine to filling prescriptions in the middle of the night, Memorial Health System’s Pharmacy Services offers the community a convenient way to get its medicine.
Memorial Health’s pharmacies have five different locations across Lawton. They don’t just fill pill bottles, they also fill the needs of anyone who is in need of medicine.
Mark Guinib, retail pharmacy operations manager at Memorial Health said each pharmacy offers unique services.
Great Plains Pharmacy, located on Memorial Health’s main campus on Gore Blvd., offers more personalized care.
“What’s unique about Great Plains Pharmacy is that they have a dedicated technician team for specialty pharmacy,” he said, “Their sole job is to help manage prior authorizations, copay assistance programs and patient monitoring.”
He added that the Great Plains Pharmacy also offers specialty medicine.
“They help manage patients with special, rare and chronic conditions,” he said, “And, they help get the medications that are either hard to attain, hard to use, or hard to monitor.”
The 24/7 Community Pharmacy in the main campus emergency room offers around-the-clock care and easy prescription pick-up.
“We do have a curbside delivery option,” Guinib said, “So, if for whatever reason you have to leave, get your loved one home, get a kid to a ball game and you need to come back, there’s a spot that you can pull up and dial the number, and we’ll bring meds right out to you.”
Guinib added, “it’s all about convenience and making life as easy as possible for our patients and our community.”
Hospital patients can also use Memorial Health’s “Meds to Beds” program, which fills and delivers prescriptions to a patient’s room before discharge, the system said.
For unused or expired medications, the 24/7 Community Pharmacy has a medication drop box in its lobby.
If you choose to get your prescription filled at the Lawton Community Health Center Health Plex or Rapid Access Care, you don’t even need to step foot outside your car.
“So, two of our locations, the LCHC Health Plex and the LCHC Rapid Access have convenient drive through locations. We try to make it as easy as possible for patients to get their prescriptions, whether that means walking in or whether that’s using the drive through service,” Guinib said.
All of Memorial Health’s pharmacies are open to the general public, and they take most insurance policies.
Each pharmacy is connected; Guinib says it makes picking up a prescription easy, even for those who end up at the wrong pharmacy.
“What’s unique about each one of those locations is that we have connected records,” he said, “We have what’s called Central Pharmacy and so, we can access records at any one of those locations at any one of our sites.”
Keep in mind that hours vary depending on the pharmacy you use. To see those hours, check Memorial Health’s website.
