March is the month of giving, and the Comanche County Memorial Hospital foundation has partnered with Jersey Mikes in Lawton to raise money for the Starlight Unit.
On March 27th, 2019 Jersey Mikes across the country will give 100 percent of their sales to a charity of their choosing.
“In the 8 years we’ve done this, we’ve raised over 34 million dollars,” said Tyrone Muldowney, Jersey Mike’s owner. “Last year was our first year to break 6 million. Our goal is to break the 6 million mark for our 9th year.”
This year, Jersey Mikes in Lawton has chosen the Comanche County Memorial Hospital foundation.
“I’ve always liked helping kids,” said Muldowney. “And the Starlight Unit just touched my heart.”
“The Starlight Unit encompasses our women and children’s services, as well as our neonatal intensive care unit. And our children’s unit,” said Lea Ann Chandler, Director of CCMH foundation.
Chandler says they are honored to be chosen.
“It’s just fantastic. We just greatly appreciate Tyrone and his staff, as well as Jersey Mikes nationwide for allowing us to be able to partner with them and be the beneficiary of the proceeds.”
Tyrone Muldowney is the owner and operator for Jersey Mikes in Lawton. He says for the folks who want to eat healthy while giving back, they’ve got you covered.
“We’ve got the sub in the tub, no carbs. You get all the meat you want. We have veggie sandwiches. We have wraps,” said Muldowney. “So it’s whatever you want from healthy to all the cheese and mayo you want.”
Muldowney says, the community has always been there for him so he just enjoys giving back when he can. He hopes others feel the same.
“Just come out and support the cause,” said Muldowney. “We’ll be here ready for you. And come hungry.”
The Jersey Mikes Day of giving is Wednesday March 27th from 10am to 9pm. It is for dine in, carry out, or for catering. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the CCMH foundation to support the Starlight Unit.
